South of France – East Accommodation
On the Eastern side of the South of France lies Provence, the Alps, the Riviera, the southern parts of Burgundy, the Massif Centrale mountain range plus France’s second largest city, Lyon.
While probably most recognised for its mountains and seaside towns and villages, this part of France is particularly famous for its Roman ruins, many amazingly intact as in Orange, Arles and Nimes.
All these regions are famous for their wines, food, culture and history and Lyon is sometimes referred to as the gastronomic centre of France.
