Things to do:

Visit the 2000 year old Roman aqueduct Pont du Gard, or 45 minutes to the walled city of Avignon where the papal place is a must (7 Popes ruled from here). Uzés is 15 minutes away and is a delightful and interesting town. Or, just as close are Nîmes, Arles, Orange - all with amazing Roman ruins.

Restaurants:

Excellent restaurants in nearby village eg L'Amphitryon (michelin rated) or La Table de Julien (just as good, but slightly cheaper) or Les Jarres (but avoid the sea snails).
